Camera Angles

In today’s lesson, I learnt about all different camera angles that are used in everyday life and which are used by professional photographers. Here are some definitions of different angles and why they are affective.

A high angle shot, is when the camera is located above the eye line.  A high angle shot, is usually used to make the subject look smaller and less powerless then what it actually is.  High angle shots are usually used in film to make the moment more dramatic or if there is someone at a high level that the other person is talking to.

A close up shot is mainly used to concentrate on a face or a very little part of a background. A Flat angle shot is when the camera is usually on the same level as the subject. A close up shot is usually used to show a certain expression on the subjects face.

A low angle shot, is a shot in which the camera is lower than the eye level  A shot being taken from below the eyelevel, subject appears larger and suggests a feeling of power. , is a picture from a camera  positioned low on the vertical axis, anywhere below the eye.

In the extreme wide shot and the wide shot is to show the subject's surroundings. The point of this shot is so that the subject is still visible but the surroundings take over the photo. In the extreme wide shot, the view is so far from the subject that s/he isn't even visible. The point of this shot is to show the subject's surroundings
